Our History

The Municipality of Clarendon was named after an estate in England known as “Clarendon Park”. The name itself means “Clover Hill” and this is why a clover leaf adorns the top of the Municipal emblem. The emblem, designed by Robert Crawford, represents Clarendon’s agricultural heritage and its current principle industry with an axe, a scythe and a sheaf of grain, while the colour green is used to signify the Municipality’s strong Irish roots.
